Publication date:

For the penultimate session of the Living Law Programme, the Attorney General arranged for pupils to visit the Public Prosecution Service.

Upon arrival the group were welcomed by Senior Prosecutor Mairead Lavery, who introduced the Director of the Public Prosecution Service, Mr Barra McGrory QC.  The director provided an overview of his role and then offered his time for questions from the students.

During the event pupils discussed possible case scenarios, how to apply the test for prosecution and the legal attire for court.  In addition, they were given a demonstration on how to build evidence for a case and present it at court.

The day concluded in a relaxed setting where the group could ask questions of prosecutorial staff.
