Publication date:

For the penultimate Living Law session participating schools were taken for a visit to the Royal Courts of Justice, where the Attorney had arranged for them to have a privileged meeting with The Lord Chief Justice Sir Declan Morgan.

After their meeting the students relocated to various court rooms within RCJ and Laganside Courts to witness Bail Applications, Sentencing, Execution of a Warrant and Arraignments.  One group were fortunate to be called into Chambers with His Honour Judge McFarland, Recorder of Belfast, to discuss the proceedings of the day.

Upon their return to the office of the Attorney General the pupils engaged in discussion with the Attorney recounting what they had seen that day.

The Attorney also announced the winner of his Living Law Essay Competition; Lisa Curry of Fivemiletown College.
