In preparation for their mock trials the Living Law pupils were taken for a visit to the Royal Courts of Justice (RCJ), where the Attorney had arranged for them to meet with The Lord Chief Justice Sir Declan Morgan.
The Lord Chief Justice provided an overview of the history and functions of the courts which prepared the students for their visits to various court rooms within the RCJ and Laganside Courts. There they were able to witness Bail Applications, a Civil Action and Committal Proceedings.
Upon their return to the Office of the Attorney General the pupils discussed the events of the day, with the Attorney answering questions they had regarding the proceedings.
The Attorney also announced the winner of his Living Law Essay Competition; Steven Nicholson of Kilkeel High School.
