The winner of the Attorney General’s Overall Justice Media Award for 2013 was The Detail for its article: “Solitary confinement has doubled in Hydebank Prison. The Detail asks why?”
Speaking about the winning entry at the Award’s prize giving today, the Attorney General said: “This piece succeeded in raising the profile of an important issue and in stimulating public and political discussion.”
Congratulating Barry McCaffrey of The Detail, the Attorney commented that: “The multimedia format of the article was particularly effective.”
