Attorney General Launches his 2016 Bar Pupillage Scholarship

The Attorney General for Northern Ireland, John F Larkin QC, today launched his 2016 annual Bar Pupillage scholarship. The competition is open to this year’s Bar Pupils and is awarded to the Pupil who enters the best essay on the topic below.

The winner of the scholarship will receive a bursary of £2,000 and the opportunity to undertake 20 hours of Pro Bono work within the Office of the Attorney General. In addition, the winner and runner-up will automatically be included on the Attorney’s Recently Qualified Junior Counsel Panel at the end of their non-practising Pupillage.

Bar Pupils wishing to enter the competition are asked to write no more than 2,500 words on the following topic:

“The value of comparative law for a ‘Brexiting’ Northern Ireland”

Entries for the competition should be emailed to contact@attorneygeneralni.gov.uk and arrive no later than 12 noon on Monday December 12 2016.
